Here is a list of links I use to check for how the snow conditions are. I ride Stevens Pass the most but apply this idea to your local mountain if you not from the North West.
National Weather Service - Customize your pinpoint location & see where the snow is falling. Five day weather report that is pretty accurate.
SnowForeCast.com – Easy to see pictures & predictions. Plus includes a detailed description for what to expect in most areas. Six day weather report leaning more optimistically!
Mountain Web Cams & Road Conditions – Best way to see what is currently happening. The road report lists the current temperature.
Doppler – Pacific Ocean Satellite - North America Satellite - West Coast Satellite - Each of these links provides a different unique angle to see where the storm is coming from, how cold, how big, is it from Alaska or Hawaii. El Nino this year brings more storms from the South West, these satellite images show real team movement & help you track where the best powder is!
Avalanche Check – Always ride with a partner & check the avalanche conditions before you go into fresh powder. Find your local Avalanche report @ Avalanche.org
SnoCountry.com – After the storm see who got the most snow in your region.
FRESHIES!
